Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill HR 313 added a list of representatives who are supporting the resolution and provided more detailed information about a federal grand jury indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The changes emphasize allegations that the SPLC misused more than $3 million of donor funds to support extremist groups while falsely portraying themselves as fighting against such extremism. This matters because it raises significant concerns about transparency and accountability for organizations soliciting charitable donations, potentially impacting public trust.
