What changed in the latest version
42 added · 40 removedPlain-language change summary
The latest version of SB 262 increases funding for citizen science projects by adding $275,000 for each of the State Parks Division and the Department of Environment to hire program coordinators. Previously, the bill allocated $137,500 to each agency, which was significantly lower. This change matters because it boosts the state's investment in volunteer-led scientific research, allowing for better oversight and execution of these projects, ultimately enhancing data collection about wildlife.
