The recent amendment to Bill SB 252 allows all licensed social workers in New Mexico to provide telehealth services. This change is significant because it expands access to mental health services, making it easier for individuals to receive support, especially in underserved areas. By including social workers in the list of healthcare providers authorized to offer telehealth, more people can benefit from counseling and therapeutic services remotely.
