The recent amendments to Senate Bill 22 remove the name of a third sponsor and clarify certain provisions related to water quality management. Additionally, the bill now includes a clearer focus on the creation of a fund for neglected and contaminated sites and general permit coverage for multiple dischargers, while some previously included details related to penalties and permit denials have been cut. These changes aim to streamline the bill and enhance its focus on improving water quality regulation in New Mexico.
