The latest version of HB 47 updates property tax exemptions for veterans to align with changes approved by voters in a recent constitutional amendment. It clarifies that veterans or their unmarried surviving spouses, if they are residents of New Mexico, are eligible for these exemptions on their property. This change matters because it ensures that veterans and their families maintain financial relief through property tax exemptions in light of the new regulations.
