Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Senate Bill 437 has removed a requirement that early childhood and primary/secondary education providers must prohibit corporal punishment on their premises to be eligible for state benefits or contracts. Instead, the bill now simply declares a public policy against corporal punishment without the conditional clause. This change matters because it simplifies the eligibility criteria for education providers, ensuring that corporal punishment is entirely banned in educational settings without tying it to state contracts or benefits.
