"field coordinator" means a person certified by r i = r t e w d the board with special training and expertise responsible for mthe aefficient norganization oand dconduction mof :a SAR mission;

"civil air patrol" means the civil air patrol division of the department of military affairs and an air force auxiliary responsible for coordinating air searches [which ] that are authorized by the AFRCC;

The state SAR resource officer, in consultation = = o h l ] b ,d i a º e with local, state, federal and tribal emergency responders, r i = r t e w d search and rescue volunteer organizations and the board, shall mestablish astandardized ncriteria ofor dnotifying mthe :state SAR control agency of a SAR emergency.

The state SAR resource officer shall provide training to local, state, federal and tribal emergency response entities, public HGEICºsafety service»HGEIC HGEICºsafety»HGEIC answering points and volunteer SAR organizations in the protocols for reporting a SAR emergency.
Unless specified otherwise in a memorandum of agreement between the state SAR control agency and the local jurisdiction where a SAR emergency is located, local and STBTC/SB 353 state emergency response entities and public HGEICºsafety service»HGEICanswering hPage HGEICº3 safety»HGEIC answering points responsible for emergency g o t hr response shall promptly notify the state SAR control agency by g e i k phone or other approved communication technology of a potential h r i s need of state SAR personnel and resources.

"[NEW"SAR MATERIAL] SAR EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROTOCOLS--PROTOCOLS--NOTIFICATION NOTIFICATION OF AGENCIES WITH RELEVANT EMERGENCY RESPONSE JURISDICTION.--AfterJURISDICTION.-- After being notified of a SAR emergency, the state SAR control agency shall promptly notify the entity that requested assistance and other appropriate authorities having jurisdiction, including affected land management agencies if a SAR emergency has occurred on the agency's or agencies' land, that state SAR personnel and resources have been activated.
If the state SAR control agency receives the STBTC/SB 353 initial notification of a SAR emergency, the SAR control Page 4 agency shall promptly notify the affected authorities having jurisdiction of where the local SAR h u » r emergency is anticipated to be located and whether resources or t h g e personnel have been deployed.
In the event that the state SAR l i h r control agency is unable to deploy SAR resources for a SAR i s h , e h emergency, the SAR control agency shall facilitate and assist t u g e b l in securing alternate SAR resources to support the affected e e , gh n d d i jurisdiction." = = o h l ] b ,d i a º r SECTION 4.
EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the e r = t e w d provisions of this act is January 1, 2026.
