The amendment to Bill HB 256 changes deadlines for introducing legislation in the New Mexico legislature. Now, no new bills can be introduced during the last fifteen days before the end of the session, which streamlines the process and allows more focus on existing proposals. This is important as it helps prevent a last-minute rush of legislation, allowing legislators to better manage their time and ensure thorough consideration of all bills.
