Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 56 adds language that allows officials to restrict access to certain information about livestock owners and their operations during investigations of animal health events. This change is significant because it aims to encourage livestock producers to report disease outbreaks without fear of public exposure, thereby helping to quickly identify and control animal health issues that may affect food security. Overall, the adjustment reflects a proactive approach to managing animal health and safeguarding the food supply.
