Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill HB 253 introduces new procedures for sealing and unsealing eviction court records. Specifically, it clarifies that the process for petitioning to unseal these records will now be determined by the courts' policies rather than just the administrative office of the courts. This change is significant because it streamlines access for authorized attorneys while also enhancing the courts' oversight of how sensitive eviction information is managed, potentially improving privacy for individuals involved in eviction proceedings.
