Plain-language change summary

The latest version of SB 54 has added provisions for improving support for individuals in crisis and enhancing public safety through a variety of programs. It now requires correctional facilities to report on medication-assisted treatment and allows local judicial districts to create treatment court programs. These changes are significant because they aim to address behavioral health crises more effectively and support rehabilitation efforts, potentially reducing recidivism and improving community safety.
