Plain-language change summary

The updated version of HB 72 has added a requirement for establishing minimum nurse-to-patient staffing ratios in licensed hospitals. It also creates a statewide Staffing Advisory Committee to ensure these ratios are properly enforced. These changes matter because they aim to improve patient care and safety by ensuring that hospitals have enough nurses to meet patient needs, potentially leading to better health outcomes and reduced burnout for nursing staff.
