The updated version of Senate Bill 281 now removes a clause that established a two-year deadline for filing claims related to wildfire damages. This change means that individuals may have more time to seek compensation if they are affected by wildfires caused by rural electric cooperatives. By allowing a longer timeframe for claims, the amendment aims to provide greater access to justice for those impacted by these wildfires.
