Plain-language change summary

The updated version of HB 165 now requires Medicaid managed care organizations to fully reimburse community-based pharmacies for the cost of prescription drugs, along with a professional dispensing fee. Previously, an additional provision that called for a study by the health care authority to determine a reasonable dispensing fee has been removed. This change is important because it ensures that pharmacies will get fair compensation for their services right away, rather than waiting for a study to set the fee, which can help support local pharmacies and improve access to medications for patients.
