Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 216 include changes that specifically allow financing for affordable housing projects under the New Mexico Finance Authority Act. This means that definitions related to "public project" and "qualified entity" have been updated, helping local governments access funds to develop affordable housing plans. Additionally, the bill now supports financing for necessary flood maps and archaeological clearances. This matters because it aims to address housing shortages while ensuring that communities are better prepared for environmental challenges.
