The recent amendments to SB 210 introduce the "National Guard Death Benefit Act," which establishes a fund specifically for providing death benefits to members of the National Guard. This fund will benefit from donations, gifts, and appropriations, ensuring a dedicated financial source for supporting families of deceased guardsmen. The changes are significant because they create a structured process for administering these benefits, enhancing support for service members' families during difficult times.
