The recent amendments to House Bill 233 reorganize the Regulation and Licensing Department by upgrading it to a cabinet-level department. This change enhances its authority and importance within the state's executive branch. Additionally, the bill now includes provisions for compliance inspectors for the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division and the Cannabis Control Division, which is vital for ensuring standards are met in those regulated industries. Overall, these changes aim to improve oversight and streamline regulation in New Mexico.
