The latest version of House Bill 5 adds language focusing on the prohibition of exchanging official acts for sexual favors, enhancing measures against corruption among legislators and public officials. Additionally, it clarifies restrictions on how legislators can refer to their official roles and the use of legislative materials when assisting others with matters before state agencies. These changes are significant because they aim to strengthen ethical standards in government conduct and ensure accountability, ultimately fostering public trust in elected officials.
