Plain-language change summary

The update to House Bill 78 removes a deadline, known as a "sunset date," for a tax distribution to the State Aviation Fund. This change means that the funding sourced from the gross receipts tax will continue indefinitely, rather than stopping after a predetermined period. Additionally, the bill includes an increase in another gross receipts tax distribution to the State Aviation Fund. These changes are significant because they provide ongoing financial support for aviation-related projects and services in New Mexico, promoting the state's transportation infrastructure and possibly supporting economic growth in the aviation sector.
