Plain-language change summary

The bill has been revised to direct a $20 million appropriation to the Department of Environment instead of the Department of Finance and Administration for addressing water line issues in Truth or Consequences. Additionally, the funding period has been extended from just one fiscal year to cover five years from 2023 to 2027. These changes are significant because they streamline the process by involving the department that specializes in environmental concerns and provide a longer timeframe to effectively plan and improve the city's water infrastructure, addressing critical water loss issues.
