The revised version of Bill HB 228 establishes the "Improvement Special Assessment Act," which allows counties to impose assessments to fund property improvements, particularly for energy efficiency and renewable energy. Importantly, this bill repeals the previous Solar Energy Improvement Special Assessment Act, streamlining existing legislation. This change is significant because it broadens the scope of improvements counties can support, potentially encouraging more extensive investments in energy efficiency projects within communities.
