The updated version of Bill SB 71 introduces new provisions that prohibit any discrimination against individuals with physical or mental disabilities who are recipients of anatomical gifts, such as organ transplants. Additionally, it prevents insurance companies from denying coverage for organ, eye, or tissue transplants based solely on a person's disability. This change is significant because it aims to ensure that everyone, regardless of their disabilities, has equal access to life-saving medical treatments and insurance support.
