Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill SB 3 increases flexibility for how public schools can use their family income index allocations. Schools can now allocate these funds to a broader range of programs and interventions aimed at improving student outcomes, including culturally relevant professional development. This change is significant as it allows schools to tailor their spending to better meet the specific needs of their students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
