In the revised version of SB 9, the proposed legislation now includes the establishment of two new funds: the Conservation Legacy Permanent Fund and the Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund. This change highlights a stronger focus on conservation efforts and sustainable funding to support those initiatives. By including these funds in the state’s investment framework, it could lead to more reliable financial resources for projects aimed at preserving New Mexico's natural heritage. This matters because it reflects a commitment to long-term conservation strategies that benefit both the environment and the community.
