The amendments to SB 497 increase the maximum total value of multiple architectural and engineering services contracts from $7.5 million to $10 million over four years. Additionally, the cap for individual contracts has also been raised from $650,000 to $1.3 million. This change is significant because it allows state agencies and local public bodies to undertake larger projects and potentially respond better to community needs. By raising these limits, the legislation aims to streamline project delivery and improve the overall efficiency of public contracts.
