Plain-language change summary

The bill has been amended to change its title from the "Uniform Child Witness Protective Measures Act" to the "Child and Adjudicated Incapacitated Adult Witness Protective Measures Act." This change expands the scope of the law to include protections for adjudicated incapacitated adults in addition to child witnesses. Additionally, the amendment allows victims the right to deny a pretrial statement or interview, which enhances their control and privacy in legal proceedings. This matters because it aims to make the legal process more considerate of vulnerable individuals while ensuring their voices are heard in a sensitive manner.
