Plain-language change summary

The bill has been amended to clarify how and when information about child abuse and neglect can be shared by the Children, Youth, and Families Department. It now specifies that information regarding child fatalities or near fatalities must be shared, while also ensuring that personal details of clients remain protected. Additionally, any decision to exclude the media from court proceedings must now come with a written order from the court, which can be appealed. This matters because it enhances transparency while also safeguarding the sensitive information of families involved.
