Plain-language change summary

The revised bill now includes a request for the Public Education Department to assess and report on the progress and effectiveness of the Purple Star Public Schools program, which supports children from military families. This addition highlights the importance of understanding how well the program is working in New Mexico schools, especially as questions about its implementation have arisen. It matters because ensuring these students receive the necessary support during transitions is crucial for their academic and emotional well-being.
