Plain-language change summary

The amended bill SB 453 introduces a new provision that requires any contracts for consolidated health care benefits, starting from July 1, 2024, to use Medicare reference-based pricing for reimbursement. This means that healthcare providers will be paid based on rates set by Medicare. Additionally, the duration for contracts established between July 1, 2023, and January 1, 2024, will be limited to one calendar year. These changes aim to standardize payment processes and potentially lower costs for public health care agencies.
