The latest version of Bill SB 464 removes the previous focus on creating an "Agritourism Promotion Act" and instead emphasizes the broad goal of boosting agritourism through the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division. It now highlights the division's responsibility to promote not only agritourism but also outdoor recreation and ecotourism in the state. This change matters because it consolidates efforts to enhance New Mexico's economy while protecting its natural and cultural resources, making it easier to attract visitors and businesses to the area.
