The updated version of SB 452 introduces several key changes, primarily focusing on the broadband sector. It now authorizes the lease or sale of broadband infrastructure and outlines requirements for internet service providers to report their activities, which could enhance accountability. Additionally, the bill clarifies definitions related to cybersecurity and streamlines processes related to administrative hearings. These changes are significant as they aim to improve access to broadband services and enhance the security of telecommunications networks in New Mexico.
