Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to House Bill 240 include the addition of a provision for a special registration plate designed to show support for acequia and community ditch associations in New Mexico. Vehicle owners will have the option to apply for this plate by paying a yearly renewal fee of $30, which will be used to help fund the promotion and maintenance of these important water delivery systems. This change is significant because it not only raises awareness for these community resources but also provides a new way for residents to support local water management initiatives.
