The latest amendments to Bill SB 92 expand the definition of "compounding" within the Pharmacy Act. This change allows pharmacists to prepare medications in anticipation of prescriptions, based on common prescribing habits, rather than only in response to a specific prescription. This is significant because it enables pharmacists to provide more timely and efficient care by having necessary medications readily available, ultimately benefiting patients who may require immediate access to their medications.
