Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 103 establish requirements for conducting criminal history background checks for employees and job finalists at the Workforce Solutions Department, as well as for its contractors and subcontractors. It emphasizes that the information obtained from these checks will be confidential and can only be used in limited circumstances. This change is important because it sets clear expectations for safety and security while protecting the privacy of individuals undergoing these checks. The bill also incorporates provisions for denying or terminating employment based on the findings from the background checks.
