Plain-language change summary

The most significant change in Senate Bill 65 is the addition of a specific reference to the "human services department" for managing the funds, along with a focus on supporting food banks through both additional purchases and delivery. By allocating $12 million from the general fund, the bill emphasizes providing help to food banks to ensure food security for New Mexico's residents. This matters because it enhances the state's commitment to tackling hunger and improving access to food resources in local communities.
