Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to House Bill 151 clarify that justices of the New Mexico Supreme Court will receive the same annual salary as federal magistrate court judges. Additionally, the legislation removes the previous salary formulas used for magistrates. This simplification aims to ensure that the salaries are directly comparable, making it clearer how justices are compensated and potentially enhancing their attractiveness to qualified candidates for these important judicial roles.
