The updated version of Bill SB 2767 adds specific provisions regarding the oversight and distribution of funds from opioid litigation settlements. Key changes include expanding the types of manufacturers and pharmacy chains eligible for monetary settlements, clarifying that the Attorney General will manage these funds, and introducing an annual reporting requirement. These changes are significant because they aim to ensure that settlement funds are effectively allocated and comply with the terms of the opioid settlements, ultimately promoting transparency and accountability in how the money is used to address opioid-related issues in Mississippi.
