The most significant change to Bill SB 2226 is the addition of a provision stating that certain rights for rate-regulated public utilities will be in effect until June 30, 2025, after which they will be repealed. This means that utilities will have a specific timeframe to exercise their rights before losing them. It matters because this deadline could impact how utilities plan and operate, possibly affecting their services and rates for consumers during this period.
