The recent amendment to Bill SB 528 removes the original content and replaces it with a focus on appropriations for the Department of Health and Human Resources. Specifically, it allocates $15.625 million for Institutional Facilities and Operations. This change is significant because it directs funding toward essential health infrastructure, which could improve services for individuals in institutional care.
