Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 643 primarily clarified the language regarding the board members' roles and responsibilities. It specifies that members of the board will not receive compensation but can be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred while performing their duties. Additionally, it tightens the language around conflicts of interest, ensuring that members cannot have financial ties to contracts related to their board activities. These changes help create clearer guidelines on governance and ethics, which is important for maintaining public trust in the authority's operations.
