Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 442 change how service credit is calculated for certain employees of the West Virginia State Legislature. It establishes that for employees who have worked seven consecutive years during regular sessions and in the interim, they can earn one month of service credit for every 10 days worked, regardless of when those days fall within the calendar months. This change is significant because it recognizes the contributions of long-term temporary employees and ensures they receive appropriate credit toward their retirement benefits, potentially improving their financial security in retirement.
