What changed in the latest version

The revised version of Bill SB 991 adds a requirement for the Office of New Americans to provide an annual report to the Governor and the General Assembly by December 1. Additionally, the chairman of the Advisory Board must submit an executive summary of the board's activities during the interim period at the start of each regular session. These changes enhance accountability by ensuring that both the office and board regularly communicate their work and findings to state leaders. This matters because it helps keep government officials informed and involved in supporting new Americans, fostering better integration and services.
