The latest version of HB 1141 removes a requirement that the attending and consulting qualified medical providers must not have a supervisory relationship with each other. This change matters because it may streamline the process for patients seeking assistance with end-of-life options by allowing more flexibility in the choice of medical providers. This could potentially make it easier for patients to access the support they need during a challenging time.
