Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Senate Bill 5542 updates the requirements for appointments to the optometry board. Previously, three members were specified as part of the board's composition, but now the language has been revised to allow the governor to appoint a broader range of optometrists while maintaining restrictions to ensure they have relevant experience and independence from optometry colleges or optical businesses. This change aims to enhance the board's effectiveness by ensuring that its members have diverse perspectives and backgrounds in the field of optometry.
