Plain-language change summary

The changes made to Assembly Bill 977 emphasize the requirement for human trafficking prevention instruction specifically for grades 7 to 12, and mandate that school boards provide age-appropriate curriculum aligned with a model developed with state agencies. Additionally, the bill now includes a requirement for full-time school district employees to undergo training to identify child trafficking victims. This is important as it aims to better equip students and staff to recognize and prevent human trafficking, ultimately protecting vulnerable youth in schools.
