Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 693 changed the eligibility for free admission to state parks from all veterans and Gold Star families to only those who are state residents. This means that veterans and Gold Star families who do not live in the state will no longer receive free access, which could limit the benefits to a narrower group. This change is significant because it impacts the accessibility of state parks for veterans and their families who may be visiting from out of state.
