The updated version of SB 5337 introduces new definitions for income thresholds specifically for service-connected disabled veterans, ensuring that these thresholds are adjusted for inflation every five years starting in 2022. Additionally, the definition of "combined disposable income" has been simplified by removing references to specific expenses like health care and prescription drugs that could be deducted from income. This change matters because it streamlines the process for veterans seeking exemptions, potentially making it easier for them to qualify for financial relief without needing to document various expenses.
