The latest amendment to SB 5706 adds a specific focus on establishing a cannabis equity grant program, which aims to support communities disproportionately affected by cannabis prohibition. This change is significant because it highlights the state's commitment to addressing past injustices and ensuring that those impacted by previous cannabis laws have opportunities for economic growth in the legal cannabis industry.
