Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Assembly Bill 978 has updated the composition and responsibilities of the proposed Human Trafficking Council. The council will now include a broader range of representatives, such as officials from various departments and members from both political parties, enhancing collaboration across agencies. This change matters because it aims to create a more comprehensive approach to tackling human trafficking by ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise are involved in decision-making and county-level task forces.
