The recent changes to HB 1041 clarify the definition of "identifying information" for child victims of crime by adding the child's name and the relationship with the alleged perpetrator in cases of sexual assault. The revised bill also removes the requirement to include the child's home address. These modifications aim to better protect the privacy of young victims while ensuring that crucial information is still available to support their cases effectively. This is important because it balances the need for anonymity with the necessity of knowing the family dynamics involved in serious crimes.
